Excitement is building for the Master Builders National Excellence Awards 2022 which returns to its normal face-to-face format after disruptions from the pandemic says Master Builders CEO Denita Wawn.
The National Excellence in Building & Construction Awards are the industry’s prestigious annual three-day celebration which culminates in the announcement of the country’s best builders in the residential, commercial and civil/infrastructure construction and recognition for the projects that have won them acclaim.
To mark the occasion, two new awards will be launched focussing on sustainability.
“Master Builders has partnered with WoodSolutions to launch the WoodSolutions National Sustainability Residential Building Award and the WoodSolutions National Sustainability Commercial Building Award.”
“These awards recognise excellence in incorporating sustainability principles into both residential and commercial building from sustainable design principles, use of sustainable materials, and incorporating sustainability practices during the construction process to deliver better sustainability outcomes from the built environment,” Ms Wawn said.
Head of WoodSolutions Program, Eileen Newbury said these two awards align seamlessly with the WoodSolutions program which was created to address the need for information and education on how to use timber in the built environment, with a focus on sustainability.
“WoodSolutions is a proud sponsor of the Master Builders National Excellence in Building and Construction Awards 2022. By supporting the Sustainable Residential and Commercial Building Award categories we celebrate the innovative achievements and positive environmental outcomes in the construction industry,” Eileen said.
The company has developed an extensive range of resources and evidence-based information and education, hosted on a world leading website for timber. Resources include over 50 Technical Design Guides, written by experts to provide detailed information about using wood and wood products to meet the requirements of the National Construction Code. The design guides are complemented by installation guides, fires test reports and performance data and information about timber species used in the Australian construction industry.
All WoodSolutions resources are free and designed to help broaden knowledge and provide the latest developments in timber design and construction. Join informative webinars, listen to the Timber Talks podcasts, ask for expert advice on codes, standards and compliance, or jump on to the WoodSolutions Campus site for online, self-paced learning modules, relevant to anyone along the whole wood products supply chain.
The event will be held in the Hunter Valley from 24 – 26 November.
