The best of Queensland building and construction was on display at the Master Builders Australia National Building Excellence Awards on the weekend.

Queensland builders dominated in the residential categories, showcasing their strengths as luxury lifestyle builders. The following awards were won:

  • National Luxury Project Home over $3M, DTL Constructions, Sanctuary Cove
  • Cbus National High Rise Apartment BuildingCavcorp QLD for Lucent Gasworks

DTL Constructions are worthy recipients of National Residential Builder of the Year. The builder carefully considered and executed every detail during the construction of their two award winning homes,” Denita Wawn, Chief Executive Officer of Master Builders Australia said.

DTL Construction’s Brookwater home ensured the natural beauty of the surrounding bushland was enhanced. All aspects of design and construction were carefully considered in conjunction with the clients’ lifestyle. The inclusion of 4.5m ceilings creates an expansive feel, evoking a sense of freedom and individuality.

The builder’s award-winning Sanctuary Cove home is a hybrid of traditional and contemporary design. A tour of this home is an unforgettable experience and whilst the residence boasts ultimate space, quality and luxury, it still retains a bespoke warmth and a harmonious visual texture. A true testament to outstanding workmanship.

Graya Construction designed their winning home to complement the amazing view as well as provide an entertainment area that was second to none. There were a number of innovative materials used throughout the renovation, including floating stairs, a light weight roof terrace, fixed concrete seating, metal claddings, concrete floors to the bathrooms and a concrete planter box used as a roof.

“Clever use of space, city views from all three levels of this home and a 90sqm yard built on top of the garage complete this very clever renovation by Graya Construction,” Denita Wawn, CEO of Master Builders Australia said.

An extremely complex renovation oozing luxury saw Taranaway Building & Landscapes win National Luxury Alterations/Additions Award over $1M.

“The project required the entire home to be raised 1.47m and moved two metres to the west in order to accommodate the new design,” Denita Wawn said.

“The concrete pool was excavated and the original drive-way was demolished and moved to the opposite side of the block and the ground level rooms were demolished and every room upstairs was remodelled. All plumbing, electricity and even every hinge on every door was replaced.

“This was a seriously complex project by Taranaway Building & Landscapes and one they should be very proud of,” she said.

The ultimate in luxury and the first mixed use development of its kind focusing on rooftop health and well-being, the Lucent Gasworks clearly stood out in its category.

The outstanding project by Cavcorp QLD included an Olympic-sized swimming pool, detox sauna and spa, commercial sized fitness studio and yoga lawn.

Arranged over 21 levels this mixed-use luxury development comprises ground and upper ground retail, 190 apartments and 1600sqm of rooftop amenity.
