- AISC communique shows mixed bag for Construction
- Many qualifications endorsed pending removal of White Card as a core unit
- Cert III Carpentry, Cert III Joinery and Cert IV Building and Construction rejected
On Wednesday 11 March the Australian industry Skills Council (AISC) released the communique for the February meeting. A number of Construction training packages were up for endorsement.
CPCCWHS1001 (White Card) was removed as a core unit in cases for endorsement on the proviso that it be noted in the qualification description as a requirement for general induction and to gain access to a construction site (excluding Cert I Construction).
Approve qualifications: Cert I Construction; Cert II Construction Pathways; Cert III for Construction, Roof Tiling, Solid Plastering, Wall and Ceiling, Construction Waterproofing, Bricklaying and Blocklaying, Stonemasonry, Painting and Decoration, and Demolition; and Cert IV Demolition.
Approved pending removal of requirement for onsite supervision in CPCCBC4008: Cert IV Building Project Support; Diploma of Building and Construction (Management); Advanced Diploma or Building and Construction (Management).
Not approved: Cert III Carpentry; Cert III Joinery, Cert IV Building and Construction. These qualifications will be subject to further industry consultation.
