“Master Builders Australia commends the Senate for passing the Government’s income tax package in full,” Denita Wawn, CEO of Master Builders Australia said.

“Support for the tax cuts by the crossbench and Labor’s decision not to oppose them show what can be achieved in the national interest when the Parliament works together,” she said.

“Our 32,000 members around the country will welcome the maturity of the Parliament in passing this legislation. The cuts reward for the hard work of builders and tradies in every city, town and region and will inject money into the economy and support growth,” Denita Wawn said.

“It is now important that the Senate get on with passing laws that will stop thugs and bullies from being in charge of unions. Surely the extraordinary spectacle of the CFMMEU’s infamous John Setka suing the Opposition Leader and the entire ALP National Executive for their stand against his bullying and thuggery means Labor cannot stand in the way of the Ensuring Integrity Laws,” Denita Wawn said.

“As the nation’s second largest industry and biggest provider of full time jobs what is good for builders and tradies is good for Australia. That’s why Master Builders will continue to back measures to spur a stronger economy and building and construction industry,” Denita Wawn said.
