ACT building and construction businesses were big winners at the 2022 National Excellence in Building and Construction Awards.

Tools were down to celebrate the building and construction industry’s best and brightest with ACT businesses walking away as winners in three categories.

Master Builders Australia CEO Denita Wawn congratuled the winners and finalists for reaching this highly competitive stage.

“The pre-eminent national awards for the industry was the first time it returned to its normal face-to-face format following disruptions from the pandemic.”

Master Builders ACT CEO Michael Hopkins applauded the territory winners and said the building and construction industry has demonstrated that in the face of adversity, it continues to provide the highest quality outcomes for clients around the country.

AMA Projects received the National Fit-out Award – $5m to $10m for their Sirius Building New Ways of Working Project which comprised of a 4,800m2 re-fit in just nine weeks.

“AMA Projects created a modern, flexible and healthy working environment which involved high-end features and complements the highly durable materiality and adaptable internal infrastructure,” said Mr Hopkins.

Blueprint Pojects were awarded the National Renovations/Extensions Award – $200,000 to $400,000 for their Hamptons-style home renovation with quality at the heart and Walmsley Building took home the National Renovations/Extensions Award – $650,000 to $1 million for their alterations to a 1950s heritage-listed Tocumwal cottage.

Denita Wawn said the annual three-day event culminates in the announcement of the country’s best builders in residential, commercial and civil construction and recognises the projects that have won them acclaim.

“To be in the running for a National Excellence Award, entrants must have progressed from winning awards in their State or Territory and must be nominated by their local Master Builders Association to being judged for a national award,” Ms Wawn said.
