Master Builders Australia (MBA) is proud to announce applications are now open until 31 July 2026 for the inaugural annual Brian Seidler AM Memorial Scholarship to recognise exceptional efforts in the building and construction industry by an apprentice, a woman, or an indigenous person.
This scholarship is a tribute to former Executive Director of the Master Builders Association of NSW, Brian Seidler AM, who sadly passed in March 2025. Brian was an employee of the NSW Association for over 40 years and held the role of Executive Director for 25 years.
Funding has been made available from an endowment by the MBA National Organisation with contributions by the Master Builders Member Associations.
Applications are open until 31 July 2026 and the recipient will be awarded $10,000 for use in approved training purposes and if a recipient is awarded, they will be announced at the National Excellence in Building and Construction Awards in November 2026.
MBA CEO Denita Wawn said Mr Seidler was a champion of supporting those who faced challenges in the industry and had a passion for fostering the careers of apprentices, women, and indigenous people, along with combating mental health.
“Brian’s energy, tenacity, and high values are all attributes that made him an outstanding leader in the building and construction industry and his presence will never be forgotten.
“This investment across our federated organisation is in lockstep with Brian’s vision, as he recognised the critical importance of all the Master Builders organisations around the country working together.
“We want to realise the potential of those who Brian strongly supported, those who are an inspiration to others, improve the culture of their workplace and drive tenacity and strongly held values in the industry,” concluded Ms Wawn.
