The Design and Construct Lump Sum Contract is when the contractor provides all of the services necessary to complete a (commercial) building project including the provision of design. The principal engages the contractor to undertake the responsibility for adopting a design that follows the principal’s project requirements and obtains all licenses, permits and approvals necessary to complete the project.
