Master Builders Australia and Master Builders Western Australia back the $2 billion funding deal announced by the Federal and Western Australia Governments to deliver 34,000 homes, including 11,000 exclusively for first home buyers, across the State.
This follows Master Builders’ persistent advocacy for increased civil and enabling infrastructure investment. Efficient and adequate enabling infrastructure improves affordability and helps get more projects off the ground.
This funding will support WA builders from residential building through to civil construction, with benefits flowing onto non-residential activity.

“Builders are looking for this kind of action from all levels of Government. This targeted investment is welcomed by Master Builders.
“We reiterate our call on the Federal Government to back this in with a boost for our domestic and migrated skilled workforce, a 25 per cent red tape reduction, and an increase in incentives for private investment.
“Supply-side measures are what are needed to grow available stock, not simply shifting demand around. If we are to fight inflation and further interest rate hikes, increased construction and housing supply is a vital part of the mix.
“Every $1 million spent in construction delivers around $2.5 million across the economy.”
Quotes attributable to Matt Moran, Master Builders Western Australia CEO.
“The investment to accelerate housing supply in new residential estates, around Perth’s METRONET station precincts, and in regional Western Australia is especially appreciated.
“Master Builders’ latest forecasts predict an almost 13,000 home shortfall against WA’s share of the National Housing Accord target. We welcome targeted action on the barriers to closing this gap.
“Another challenge facing the building and construction industry is our critical worker shortage, with tens of thousands of additional workers needed currently in the residential sector alone.
“The $522 million for the Housing Enabling Infrastructure Fund and the further $694.3 million for land development works will go a long way to accelerating supply-side relief.”
