Master Builders Australia has welcomed the opening of applications for round two of the Federal Government’s Housing Australia Future Fund Facility (HAFF) for State and Territory Governments to expedite the delivery of more well-located social housing.

The collaboration between Housing Australia and State and Territory housing agencies aims to deliver up to 5,000 new homes across the country as quickly as possible. This will contribute to the overall goal of building 40,000 new social and affordable homes over five years.

The Call for Applications for Funding Round Two is now open and will close on Friday 31 January 2025, at 12 noon AEDT.

Quotes Attributable to Shaun Schmitke, Deputy CEO Master Builders Australia:

“Master Builders Australia is very pleased to hear that round two HAFF funding applications are now open.

“We encourage eligible organisations to apply and those who aren’t sure to reach out to Housing Australia to check their eligibility.

“Our country is in the middle of a housing crisis, and this funding for additional social and affordable housing is a positive step towards building the homes Australians desperately need.

“Investment is key, but we need to see process improvements, faster approval times and increased productivity to get these homes built quickly. That’s why we are very glad to hear that in this round of funding Housing Australia focused on getting these homes delivered as soon as possible.”
