Master Builders Australia (MBA) joins other industries in rejecting calls for changes to the current Fuel Tax Credit (FTC) system. These misguided calls threaten jobs, competitiveness and productivity in the housing and construction industry supply chain.
MBA CEO Denita Wawn says members and the broader building and construction industry rely on critical materials to deliver more homes for more communities.
“If we are to reach the 1.2 million new homes Australia needs during this five-year period, we must keep driving forward not reversing back.
“Builders stand with other key industries in advocating for fairness in Australia’s taxation system, the FTC is a refund of a road tax where there’s no road use and any attempts to remove it would impact costs across the whole supply chain,” said Ms Wawn.
