Builders call on Senate to pass Ensuring Integrity Laws

Master Builders Australia calls on the Senate to pass the Ensuring Integrity Bill following the Senate Committee Inquiry’s endorsement of the Bill,” Denita Wawn, CEO of Master Builders Australia said.

“The Ensuring Integrity Laws will see a comprehensive set of laws that will ensure all Registered Organisations, both employer organisations and unions, play by the rules,” she said.

“The laws will help return rule of law to building and construction industry and protect workers, small businesses and apprentices from bullying,” Denita Wawn said.

Registered organisations and their officials enjoy many rights and protections under existing laws that allow them to stand up for their members. There is no need to deliberately and systematically break laws to represent their member’s interests. Only those who do or intend to keep breaking laws will be affected,” Denita Wawn said.
