Denita Wawn 

Denita joined the National Board on her appointment as Chief Executive of Master Builders Australia in March 2017. Immediately before her appointment, she served as the organisation's General Manager of Operations between January 2016 - February 2017. 

Denita has 20 years of experience as a leading industry advocate in the nation's capital and around Australia. Her previous roles include CEO of the Brewer's Association of Australia and New Zealand (Brewer's Association), Executive Director of the Australian Hotels Association (AHA) Tasmanian Division and Deputy CEO of the National Farmer's Federation. She brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and influence in public policy and politics. 

At the Brewer's Association Denita represented the interests of multinational companies to federal and state policymakers and regulators. Her achievements included a highly successful reputational change strategy for the organisation implemented at both a national and international level.

For more than a decade Denita led industrial relations policy and advocacy for major industries as General Manager Workplace & Corporate Relations at the National Farmers Federation (NFF) and as National Manager Workplace Relations at the AHA.

In October 2017 Denita was appointed to the board of Cbus Super Fund. Her corporate governance experience includes previous roles as Chair of the Worldwide Brewers Alliance, Chair of the Alcohol Beverages Advertising Code (ABAC) Scheme and as a director of Hostplus industry superannuation fund. 

Denita was born and educated in Hobart, Tasmania. She has Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws degrees from the University of Tasmania.
